Rustic Opulence

Part of the Marylebone project, our clients asked us to create a dining space with a difference.
The kitchen/diner was located in the basement of the building and although well lit, did not have an abundance of natural light.
We decided to optimise the position of the space to create a moody, characterful dining area in a deep and dusky blue. The client wanted to achieve a rustic, yet refined feel, so we chose an organic wooden table juxtaposed with blue velvet patterned chairs to introduce an elegant yet playful vibe. The artwork adds a modern twist with its irreverent take on classic portraiture. The large mirror, crafted from an antique window pane expands the room visually and enhances the vintage ambiance.

We introduced antique mirrored glass at the back of the bookcase to reflect the light and give further depth to the room. The shelves were painted the same shade of matte black as the entrance door and artificial plants were placed throughout the area to bring life to the space.
To complete the space, a playful neon sign was added—capturing the clients’ vibrant and fun-loving spirit.
